Doctor Malpractice: Improper Treatment
$50,000, Plaintiff Verdict
Facial Nerve Damage
A 40-year-old male suffered facial nerve damage and TMJ when he underwent a surgical procedure performed by the female third-named defendant doctor for treatment of facial pain and a second surgical procedure performed by the male co-defendant doctor for treatment of continued pain. The plaintiff contended that the defendants failed to obtain an adequate medical history which included records of a previous facial fracture, failed to administer proper treatment for his medical condition and failed to provide the standard of care. The defendants denied liability and contended that the plaintiff failed to inform them of his previous fracture and failed to follow their instructions for medications prescribed for treatment of his condition.
