Jury Verdict Research® Releases Verdict Survey:

National verdict median for vehicular cases in 2005
down over 12 percent compared to 2004

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. - An analysis of nationwide personal injury verdicts finds that the median award for 2005 vehicular cases registers at $15,000 compared to $16,919 in 2004, according to Jury Verdict Research®’s annual report, Current Award Trends in Personal Injury – 46th Edition. The overall median award for personal injury cases from 1999 to 2005 is $34,418.

The most frequently claimed injury resulting from a vehicular accident was back strains with a median award of $6,803.

The median is the middle value among awards listed in ascending order. This value provides the most accurate gauge of the norm for a specific sampling of jury award data.
