National verdict median for personal injury cases in 2004
drops almost 6 percent compared to 2003

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. - An analysis of nationwide personal injury verdicts finds that the median award for 2004 registers at $35,000 compared to $37,086 in 2003, according to Jury Verdict Research®’s annual report, Current Award Trends in Personal Injury – 45th Edition. The overall median award for personal injury cases from 1998 to 2004 is $35,298.

The median is the middle value among awards listed in ascending order. This value provides the most accurate gauge of the norm for a specific sampling of jury award data.
