Jury Verdict Research®
Releases 2005 Idaho State Verdict Survey:
Idaho Plaintiff's
Have a Greater Victory Probability
but Receive Less than National Rate
The likelihood of a plaintiff verdict
in Idaho is 59 percent, 4 percent greater than the national
recovery probability rate, - the number of plaintiff verdicts
to total verdicts - but Idaho plaintiffs receive approximately
1/2 of the award amount, than the national median award.
The median award for Idaho is $19,375, while the median
award for the nation is $38,461, according to Jury Verdict
Research®'s 2005 Idaho Verdict Survey.
The statistics are based on verdicts rendered in Idaho from
1998 through 2004. The study also includes a breakdown of
specific injury and liability categories in the state of
Idaho, as well as a settlement analysis.
The median is the middle value among
awards listed in ascending order. This value provides the
most accurate gauge of the norm for a specific sampling
of jury award data.
Jury Verdict Research® maintains
the only nationwide database of more than 250,000 plaintiff
and defense verdicts and settlements, resulting from personal
injury claims. The data are reported, tabulated and analyzed
to determine values, trends and deviations for 400 injuries
and 300 liabilities. Jury Verdict Research® is a division
